Reach adopters when they have already decided

Someone typing “adopt a rescue dog” intends to change their household this month. The grant lets a shelter or rescue network compete for that search every month of the year, beyond what a fundraising drive could pay for.

Is this page about your organization?

Written for

  • Shelters and rescue centers
  • Foster and rehoming networks
  • Sanctuaries
  • Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation

What you need in place

  • A registered nonprofit in the EU, US, UK, Canada, Australia or Switzerland.
  • A working website that people can act on: donate, sign up, apply, book or get in touch.
  • At least one of those actions worth measuring.

Hospitals and healthcare organizations, schools and universities, and government entities are excluded by Google. Organizations without a functioning, converting website are excluded by AdGranted, because the campaigns would have nowhere to send people.

What the grant changes for a shelter

Adoption searches come at the end of a decision

Few people type “cat adoption near me” before they have decided. The searcher wants a shelter within reach showing the animals available this week, and because the grant pays for the clicks, your shelter can compete for that search all year.

“Found a stray” does not wait for office hours

Found animals, injured wildlife and surrender questions come in waves, and the spring litters arrive together. Each needs a correct local answer the same day, and the grant covers those clicks without a budget approval first.

Fostering gets its own campaign

Fostering has a vocabulary of its own. People who cannot adopt but can hold a litter for six weeks look for that in those words. How many fosters you have on call decides how many animals you can take in, so fostering gets a separate campaign and page.

One person can appear in several columns

Some adopters later sponsor an animal, some fosters volunteer, and some of the people who searched “found stray kitten” in June are on the Christmas appeal list. Counting each conversion separately from the start saves you reconstructing the year afterwards.

01We take donations through a third-party platform. Is that a problem?

Normally not. Donation, event and application platforms are assessed on how they are actually used rather than on who hosts them, and a third-party donation provider is not by default an Additional Domain for our pricing. What has to hold up is the path itself: the link works, the destination is recognizably your organization, the process is presented securely, and nobody is bounced somewhere unexpected. A broken or confusing donation path is a mandatory correction whoever operates it.

HOW WE WORK

02Is there a minimum size or budget to qualify?

No: no size test, no staff count, no revenue floor, and no advertising budget you have to bring with you. A two-person organization with a registration number and a working website is in the same position as one with fifty staff. AdGranted also declines to invent thresholds of its own: any number quoted to you comes from Google's published requirements, or it does not get quoted.

HOW WE WORK

03Our website is small. Is that enough?

Possibly. Google publishes no minimum page count and does not require a blog; what it looks for is substantial original content explaining your mission, programs and activities, plus navigation that works. A modest brochure site that genuinely describes what you do can pass. What tends to fail is a single placeholder page, text copied from elsewhere, a page that is mostly embedded video or outbound links, or an organization whose real information lives only inside PDFs.

Seven paths through Google Ad Grants. Find yours.

The free quiz asks about your organization, your website, and where the grant stands today. It then names the path that fits: a straight launch, website work first, a stuck application to unblock, an active account to improve, a suspended one to assess, a self-managed route, or groundwork before any of it.
