Findable in the hour people decide to help

A crisis leads the news and the impulse to help arrives as a search. With Google paying for the clicks, an emergency aid or refugee support organization can be findable in that window without an advertising budget of its own.

Is this page about your organization?

Written for

  • Emergency and disaster response organizations
  • Refugee and migrant support services
  • Organizations shipping medical and food aid
  • Volunteer deployment networks

What you need in place

  • A registered nonprofit in the EU, US, UK, Canada, Australia or Switzerland.
  • A working website that people can act on: donate, sign up, apply, book or get in touch.
  • At least one of those actions worth measuring.

Hospitals and healthcare organizations, schools and universities, and government entities are excluded by Google. Organizations without a functioning, converting website are excluded by AdGranted, because the campaigns would have nowhere to send people.

What a Google Ad Grants account changes for relief work

The giving follows the news

For a few days after a disaster, thousands of people search some version of “how can I help”. Buying ads in that window means a spending decision under real time pressure. With the grant in place, your campaigns are already running when the news breaks, and the surge month costs you the same as a quiet one.

Smaller, surer searches between crises

Refugee resettlement, medical shipments and volunteer deployment are searched for all year, in small numbers and by people who mean it. The grant lets you keep campaigns for your ongoing programs running through those months, without waiting for what is left after the last appeal.

A crisis should not require a rebuild

Your account is built before it is needed, with campaigns for the ongoing programs and room for whatever people search for next week. Where your donation platform allows it, tracking tells a one-off crisis donor from a recurring one. Some one-off donors become recurring ones, and an account assembled in a hurry cannot show you which.

01We are a registered charity outside the US. What counts as the equivalent?

Whatever your own country recognizes as charitable or nonprofit registration: a charity-commission number, a CRA or ACNC registration, gemeinnützig status for a German e.V., a Dutch stichting with ANBI status. Google publishes a qualifying registration requirement country by country and those requirements are not interchangeable; nobody should reason from one country's rules to another's. AdGranted checks the current requirement for your country of registration before you commit.

02Which languages can you build campaigns in?

English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Croatian. One language is included in the base price; each further campaign language is €250 to set up, and €100/month if it stays under management afterwards, both excl. VAT. Appearing on that list is not acceptance: a language is declined where your website holds no suitable content in it for the ads to point at.

OUR TERMS

03How long does Google take to decide?

No date is promised, and you should be wary of anyone who promises one: the review is Google's process and its timing is outside our control. AdGranted's own work targets roughly seven business days; everything after that is Google's clock. You get a straight answer on where the application stands rather than a guess at when it lands.

Seven paths through Google Ad Grants. Find yours.

The free quiz asks about your organization, your website, and where the grant stands today. It then names the path that fits: a straight launch, website work first, a stuck application to unblock, an active account to improve, a suspended one to assess, a self-managed route, or groundwork before any of it.
